This group has 2 or 3 meetings a year at varied locations in Sydney. The aim of the group is to provide and encourage a broad level of interest for all mycologists - not just concentrating solely on clinical human mycology. So far the level of interest in our meetings and quality of the speakers at our meetings has been excellent.
It is interesting to experience the multi-dimensional aspects of what other mycologists and students are working on. This may include fungi from soil, plants, foodstuff, veterinary or humans. Fungi are ubiquitous in nature and have no boundaries- so it is always good to be aware of the possibilities.
Next year's ASM 2010 Sydney conference will have mycology sessions in concurrence with the Australasian Mycological Society (AMS) meeting.
